Let me introduce you to your dental care team!

Dr. Aly Khan Kherani
Hello and welcome to Dentistry at the Lake! Here is a little about me and my team. I am very proud of my team and what we accomplish every day here at Dentistry at the Lake. My purpose has always been to help others by providing the best dental care possible.
I was born and raised in Etobicoke, Ontario with my older brother who is also a dentist. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Guelph and my Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Toronto in 2005. After completing my formal schooling, I moved to Boston where I did a hospital based residency at New England Medical Center allowing me to do hospital dentistry and general dentistry. I enjoy working on children as I have 2 young children myself. You may see me running around chasing them! I also enjoy all sports and sometimes talk too much about them!

I’m better known as the “go-to-girl” in the practice. I’m also the tech savvy expert. I graduated from Durham College in 2009 from the Dental Assisting Program. I have had the pleasure of being part of Dentistry At The Lake for the past 8 years! I started here as a dental assistant, but as the practice grew I took on the role as the office’s Patient Co-ordinator. I’m passionate about being a patient advocate. There’s nothing like the satisfied look on a patient’s face when they’ve navigated through the sometimes confusing world of insurance, and the unknown of treatment to come out the other end with an even bigger smile. I am very happy in this role as I get to see all of you and continue our tradition of great family dental care.
Outside the office, I love running and staying active. I not only believe in having a healthy smile but also a healthy lifestyle!

Hello! I have been working in the dental field thirty-four years now and in that time, I have matured as a person both at work and at home. I started my career right here with Dr. Hebden. I enjoy seeing friendly faces that I have known, come in and feel welcomed and not apprehensive about their dental visit. I have had the privilege to see generation after generation of patients come in the clinic. My personal goal at work is to make you feel at home when you come in the clinic and allow you to feel secure and comfortable. I strive to make sure that everyone walking through the door, whether patient or dental team member feel respected and appreciated. I love devoting some of my time at a farm that rescues horses. I also enjoy reading a good book, cooking for my family and playing with my grand-children!

Growing up in a small town I was blessed enough to have a wonderful caring dentist that made me feel relaxed. I remember the office was small and smelled like fluoride and they always made my family feel welcomed. I guess that experience helped me figure out that I also wanted to work in a place that people not only felt welcomed but felt like they were part of a family. In 2011 I attended Durham College and in 2012 i graduated from the dental assisting program and passed my National Dental Assisting Examining Board right after. I have been working as a Level 2 dental assistant for five years now, and I am the newest member to Dentistry on the Lake and the team here has welcomed me in most graciously.
I take pleasure in the interaction between the dentist, patient, and myself. I love challenging myself both at work and outside the office and dental assisting offers plenty of surprising challenges. When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with my husband, and taking our Boxer/Mastiff Harley out for her walks. Nights when we want to stay in I can cuddle with my mini-lop eared bunny Bella.
I’m very excited to begin my new chapter here with all the girls (and Dr. Aly) at Dentistry on the Lake!
Hi! I am Barb. I have had the pleasure of providing dental care for four generations of local families.
Outside of work I love to spend time with my family, tending my garden, kayaking with my grandchildren on the Indian River and browsing antique shops.
I was born in Toronto, Ontario and graduated from the dental hygiene program at Durham College in 1978.
My husband and I moved to the Peterborough area to raise our family and I joined the practice in 1984.
A highlight of my day is providing dental hygiene services to third and fourth generation clients.
I enjoy spoiling my grandchildren as much as I’m allowed; swimming, kayaking, and dragon boat racing.
May until October after work you can find me on Little Lake practicing with my dragon boat team; Peterborough Survivors Abreast, or steering community practices as we prepare to host Peterborough’s annual Dragon Boat Festival.
104 Lock Street has been my home away from home for the past 6 years. After graduating from hygiene college in 2006, I have been providing dental hygiene services to a variety of large & small families at Dentistry at the Lake.
I love my patients right up to their grand-parents. On a personal note, I love scaling almost as much as I love pizza! I believe that a healthy mouth is a part of healthy lifestyle.
Outside the office I enjoy my 5K morning run and lots of time with my husband and 3 beautiful children.

Growing up in Peterborough, I graduated from high school with aspirations to be a dental hygienist…a dream I had since middle school. From high school I went on to Niagara College and graduated in 2012. I’ve had the pleasure of being part of Dentistry at the Lake since 2012! I have truly loved and appreciated the tender care and extra amenities we offer to all our patients. When I’m not practicing dental hygiene I enjoy playing hockey for the Senior B Ennismore Eagles, being outdoors, shopping, spending time with friends, family and my dog Sparkle.
